Assalamu Alaykum Parents.
We are very excited to have you and your children as part of the Andalusia Family. Every staff member has been working very hard to prepare for the return of our wonderful students. As always, we have set very high expectations and made plans to guarantee that every student at Andalusia School will be receiving and Islamic Education. On behalf of the Middle School staff, I welcome all the new parents and students and I welcome back our former students and parents. It is a great pleasure to see the children adapting to school life after such a long break.
Many of you might have noticed the recent buzz in the world of education. This is a buzz of excitement, anticipation and challenge. The big buzz is a consequence of the New Common Core State Standards. As instructional leader, making sure these standards are implemented will be my top priority this school year. While the administration, teachers, and students of Andalusia School are keeping current with the Common Core, it is crucial that parents are involved as well. This website below is a great site to assist you in assisting your children at home. This document will help you to guide your children by reinforcing the Common Core State Standards. I urge you to look at it carefully. You can retrieve the information at www.engageny.org and www.corestandards.org
With the school year now in full swing, I thank you for being involved parents. As your support is always needed and appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at hanade1@netzero.net I look forward to working with you, and insha-Allah, we will all have a successful school year.
Best Regards,
Hanade Sarar
Middle School Instructional Leader
